Chapter 74: Level Up! (5)

‘Still, he hasn’t said anything weird lately.’

Back when Yiwon used to come visit Jiho for short periods of time, he often appeared unstable. But after they started living together, Joo Yiwon seems a lot more stable than before.

Maybe he had a bout of depression and feels better now.

Though Joo Yiwon doesn’t suit depression, mental illnesses can affect anyone.

Anyways, Yiwon’s condition has certainly improved compared to before. That’s a relief. Yiwon is taking good care of himself….

Actually, the person who needs to work harder right now is Shin Jiho. He has enough problems on his own, who is he worrying about?

Jiho shook off his distracting thoughts and took a seat.

At that time, his sister, who’s a quick worker, emailed him the details about tomorrow’s dungeon raid.

The dungeon that they will be raiding tomorrow is Ui-Wang Dungeon #6.

From Chungram Guild’s side, eight experienced members of dungeon raids will be going, including Yoo Gyung Woo.

As the dungeon is a closed dungeon with a limit of 16 people, the number of members No Name can take is also eight, including Jiho.

This means that Chungram is allocating a lot of spots for No Name.

Even if the dungeon is under Chungram’s management, when the number of members on a raid team is equal between two guilds, it gets counted as raiding it together. This means that for their first dungeon raid, No Name will be able to gain a lot of experience.

“Well, that’s good for us.”

Though Jiho does think that this support is a little extreme, he decided to accept it. After all, A-rank dungeon raids are extremely common for Chungram.

On top of that, Jiho’s older sister isn’t so careless as to let her personal affections affect her guild. Shin Jihye probably assessed that it would be fine for No Name to bring along that many people.

Jiho soon called Seung Joo over. When he relayed the news from Chungram to him, Seung Joo, despite maintaining a poker face, was excited.

“This is very good news. We should come up with a plan to go.”

“Right?”

“Yes. Since Chungram sent their list of members, we can try to match the members from our side to best support them.”

“That sounds good. Then….”

Jiho and Seung Joo began to select the hunters that would be able to participate in a dungeon raid.

First, they decided to leave the only A-rank hunter among the new recruits, Jeong Gaeun, in the guild.

As the leader of the new team dedicated to taking care of fissures, she has to be able to move if a fissure appears nearby. Not only that, but as the guild is no longer small, they need someone to stay in the guild in case something happens.

And….

“I think we should leave Hunter Heo Sori to support Hunter Jeong Gaeun this time.”

Jiho flinched at Seung Joo’s advice, but he still nodded his head in the end.

Heo Sori is a C-rank. She’s not strong enough to take along a raid headed by another guild. Of course, Chungram would probably understand, but other people might question why a C-rank like Heo Sori joined instead of other hunters.

‘And there’s also been weird rumors.’

Shin Jiho only knew after Jang Hyo Joo told him, but apparently, there were quite a number of people spreading rumors that the relationship between Jiho and Sori was sexual in nature.

Although the rumors quieted down after suing the ones that went overboard….

‘I just… realized my place.’

When Jiho recalls how despondent Heo Sori looked when she had mumbled these words in the S-rank dungeon, he wants to do something to help her, but there’s nothing he can do.

Though Jiho’s reasoning is that he favors Heo Sori because he wants to favor Heo Sori, it creates misunderstandings and brings unnecessary harm to her.

It’d be nice if [Blessing of the Star] could make someone permanently stronger, not just temporarily….

Of course, no skill can be that overpowered. [Blessing of the Star] is already something he should be thankful for, there really is no end to human greed.

Jiho curbed his disappointment and continued to confirm the list of members that will be going on the raid with Lim Seung Joo.

The next morning.

Jiho was standing in front of Ui-Wang Dungeon #6.

Although there’s still some time before they have to enter the dungeon, all of the members had gotten there early and were warming up.

No Name’s guildmembers were especially full of spirit, as today marks the guild’s first raid.

The guildmembers No Name chose are five combat hunters, two support hunters, as well as one gatherer hunter to make up for Chungram’s lack of one.

The five combat hunters include the vice-guildmaster and physical-type hunter Lim Seung Joo, Kang Chan Gi, Oh Joo Eun, the magic-type combat hunter Kim Jae Wan, and Park Yi Seul.

Though everyone besides Lim Seung Joo is a B-rank, since Chungram only brought one A-rank, Yoo Gyung Woo, as well, No Name isn’t particularly inferior.

The gatherer is C-rank hunter Lee Jae Hee. Even though he’s only a C-rank, since gatherer hunters are typically not ranked very high, he’s actually fairly strong.

And the two support hunters are Shin Jiho and Yang Hojin.

There was a lot of deliberation about including Yang Hojin or not, but in the end, it made sense for No Name to bring a healer, as all of Chungram’s support hunters are specialized in defense.

Though Lim Seung Joo, who still finds Yang Hojin suspicious, argued, “We can just use potions to heal any injuries. And if we receive a buff before we go in, there’d be no reason to get hurt either,” he seemed to agree that Jiho’s choice was reasonable, as he didn’t object to Yang Hojin either.

It seems that Yoo Gyung Woo is also satisfied that there is a healer.

“Using potions on injuries makes them sting. A healer is better.”

“But I do not think you will get hurt.”

“Haha, that’s all thanks to our Jiho.”

Though he was teasing Jiho, Yoo Gyung Woo is one of the strongest combat hunters in the country. In particular, Yoo Gyung Woo is specialized in raiding dungeons rather than fighting solo.

Jiho took a peek at Yoo Gyung Woo’s system window.

Yoo Gyung Woo’s skills are, interestingly enough, not arranged in descending order by their ranks like other people’s are; instead, his skills all jumbled up. However, it makes sense why they’re mixed, as the skills form a sentence when they’re read altogether.

Just as the names of his skills are all about encouraging and fighting alongside others, a lot of Yoo Gyung Woo’s skills only take effect when he is with other people. For example, as the number of people fighting increases, morale can increase or the chance of them being harmed can decrease.

Notably, the skill that made Yoo Gyung Woo famous is [The Goddess of Victory is on Our Side].

RankS
DescriptionSince the Goddess of Victory is on your side, there is no need to fear. Let us win and return back to Jihye’s side.
For every party member, the combat ability of Yoo Gyung Woo’s skill increases 10%. (Currently, the party system has not been unlocked yet. Instead, the skill will appoint awakened ones who are within 50m of the caster and hold good will towards the caster.)

Though Jiho feels bad for looking at Yoo Gyung Woo’s skill because he also got a peek of Gyung Woo’s innermost thoughts… the skill is good.

It’d be even better if the party system was unlocked.

Awakened ones who are within 50m and hold good will towards the caster, isn’t that too vague? Not all people have good feelings for each other just because they’re in the same guild…. Something that Jiho is very familiar with.

Anyways, even though the skill isn’t up to its full potential, its max output is still 160%.

Despite his skills being more geared towards magic, since he has decent STR and AGI stats, Yoo Gyung Woo is one of the top A-rank hunters.

‘Of course, our vice-guildmaster is also good.’

Jiho smiled proudly as he looked at Lim Seung Joo, whose stats are similar to that of Chungram’s vice-guildmaster who holds worldwide influence. Plus, because Lim Seung Joo still has the title, “No Name’s Slave,” Jiho feels a particularly stable sense of ownership….

Lim Seung Joo, who was warming up far away, felt chills for some reason and shivered.

Seeing Jiho in a good mood, Gyung Woo lightly poked him in the side.

“Are you excited to go in? You’re not nervous?”

“No. After all, Hyung is here.”

“That’s true. But I’m feeling a little greedy.”

Greedy? The word doesn’t suit Yoo Gyung Woo. Had Shin Jihye not scouted him for Chungram, he probably would’ve spent a leisurely time in an average-sized A or B-rank guild.

Even now, although he fulfills all of the duties as Chungram’s vice-guildmaster, Yoo Gyung Woo appears the least in the news, and he’s also the type of person to just do his work quietly.

“You see, Joo Yiwon sometimes comes here by himself.”

“Yes.”

Jiho knows this well. After all… he has most of Joo Yiwon’s schedule memorized by heart.

“You know how they say it usually takes Joo Yiwon about two days to clear it?”

“Yes, that is what they say…. But he tends to finish earlier, doesn’t he?”

Joo Yiwon often clears dungeons early, and then he uses the remaining time on himself. Because Jiho has had Yiwon appear in front of him when Yiwon was supposed to still be in the middle of a raid, Jiho knows this well.

“Actually, it doesn’t even take that guy 20 hours to clear this dungeon.’

“…What?”

“It takes him 20 hours when he’s taking his time, there’s times he gets out even earlier than that.”

“…”

That talented bastard. Yet Jiho’s innocent praise didn’t last long….

“When I asked him how he clears it so fast, that guy looked me up and down. Do you know what he said?”

“What did he say?”

“‘It cleared because it can be cleared. It’s harder to take an entire three days on this.’”

Tch, Yoo Gyung Woo clicked his tongue as he imitated Joo Yiwon. Though Jiho feels like Yoo Gyung Woo overexaggerated how disrespectful Yiwon’s tone was….

To Jiho, who was expressing a pure sense of admiration, Gyung Woo’s words were like oil, setting his heart ablaze.

Jiho glared at the dangerously swaying dungeon gate.

It’d be harder to take an entire three days in this dungeon?

Without Joo Yiwon, it usually takes Chungram an average of three to four days to clear Ui-Wang Dungeon #6. While it makes sense for Joo Yiwon to brag….

‘If you studied, isn’t it harder to get the questions wrong?’

…Jiho was reminded of some pretty annoying memories from the past. Along with this feeling of annoyance, a desire to beat Yiwon rose as well.

“Hyung.”

“Hm?”

“Let’s clear this dungeon in 20 hours.”

Upon noticing Jiho’s blazing pupils, Gyung Woo realized that he made a mistake. Even though these guys get along, they also fight just as much.

Internally sweating, Gyung Woo pretended to be calm as he shook his head.

“No… that would be hard.”

“Why? We can….”

“No, this dungeon is really big. You have to account for the time it takes to move, to move. When that guy’s alone, he can just copy a flight skill or transportation skill to move himself quickly. We can’t do that.”

“…”

While Jiho feels disappointed, Gyung Woo is right. Plus, as they’re bringing a gatherer along, if they go through the dungeon at such a swift speed, there’s no way anything could get gathered. As long as they don’t have a gathering skill like the one Joo Yiwon used before.

In that case….

“Then we will clear it in two days.”

“…”

Since the time it officially takes Joo Yiwon to clear this dungeon is two days.

“We have to clear this dungeon in less time than it officially takes that guy to.”

“Uh, sure….”

Shin Jihye used to hate it when Joo Yiwon manipulated his official dungeon clear time for no reason. But at this particular moment, that manipulation was a blessing.

‘It’d be hard either way.’

The difference in dungeon clear times between Yiwon and the other guildmembers is not only because of their difference in speed, but also because of the scale and the number of monsters inside the dungeon.

All of the monsters from Ui-Wang Dungeon #6 are in the form of various swarm-type insects. Because they always appear in groups, there seems to be no end to them, making this dungeon one of the most exhausting of the A-rank dungeons Chungram manages.

Joo Yiwon, with his overwhelming firepower, can easily take care of all of them all at once. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Joo Yiwon can lift the sea or crush a mountain; he can easily sweep away a few monsters. After all, Joo Yiwon usually crushes S-rank boss monsters with one blow too.

However, ordinary hunters have to stay in a terrain with no cover and kill each and every monster before they can advance.

Of course, Yoo Gyung Woo knows that Shin Jiho’s skill can give hunters a huge buff, but as someone who always crawls out of this dungeon feeling drained, the feat seems impossible to him.

It might’ve been possible if this team had been made up of only Chungram’s guildmembers experienced with this dungeon, but today, half of the members are No Name’s guildmembers who are completely new to this dungeon.

“Then, it’s time to enter the dungeon now. Let’s get ready. Don’t overexert yourself, your safety comes first.”

Hoping that Jiho doesn’t act recklessly and end up hurt like he was in the past, Yoo Gyung Woo encouraged the raid team as he always does.

When they were ready to go in, Jiho grabbed his staff. He had already gathered enough mana while he was waiting. If he wants to use [Blessing of the Star] on everyone, it’ll take a few times, but that’s nothing hard either.

Jiho recited the now familiar skill command.

[Blessing of the Star].

First, Jiho poured mana over the two A-rank hunters’ bodies.

And upon receiving it, Yoo Gyung Woo, like the other hunters, was astonished.

He knew that Shin Jiho’s skill was impressive. But because Shin Jiho is sickly and pitiful in Yoo Gyung Woo’s eyes, he unconsciously underestimated him.

The power coursing through his entire body right now raised Yoo Gyung Woo’s confidence to the max. Like this, he would probably lose to no–no, he’d probably still lose to Joo Yiwon, but… Yoo Gyung Woo feels like he wouldn’t lose to any other person besides that guy. In fact, monsters are already kneeling at his feet.

It’s not only his MP that increased, but strangely, for some reason, he feels like he can perceive the state of the raid team clearly.

All of the hunters that received [Blessing of the Star] expressed either shock or excitement one after another. Like Yoo Gyung Woo, they, too, felt their hunger to win soar.

Yoo Gyung Woo turned back to the party.

“What I said earlier, let me retract. Let’s do our best this time. We will show what we can do.”

“YES!!!”

As people who are always on the receiving end of their perfect guildmaster’s gaze that reads, “Tch…. You guys are lacking, but I suppose I have to carry you all since you guys are guildmembers,” Chungram’s guildmembers cheered.

No Name’s guildmembers didn’t understand why Chungram’s guildmembers were like that, but—enthusiastic for their first raid—No Name’s guildmembers cheered as well.

Just like that, No Name Guild’s first official dungeon raid began.
